Eating out suggestions

(Booking highly recommended as all get very busy during the peak season and Bank Holidays. Try to book at least two or three days ahead if not more!)

The Bush Inn

13th Century country pub, full of olde worlde charm and character. Friendly and welcoming staff, good value food. Conservatory resturant with views to the sea. A firm favourite of ours all year around. Just head north on the A39, you will see a sign for the Bush Pub and Morewenstow and have to turn left. The pub is a fair way down this road and you need to turn right at the fork in the road in a small villige called SHOP. Stick with it the journey is worth it:-).

The Old Smithy at Welcombe is a fantastic 17c Inn. From the outside a classic country pub on the inside decorated with facinating 70s retro decor and hosted by very welcoming landlord and landlady Rich and Jen. Food is great value traditional English with some nice twists. As will all local pubs it gets very busy on weekends, Bank Holidays and during the holiday season so imperative to book ahead.

Traditional pub, serving good value for money pub fare. Approximately 1.5 miles away. Can be walked to but mostly no pavements and a short stretch on the A39, driving is recommended especially at night. Our usual haunt if we need a quick pub bite.

Modern Italian menu served in funky suroundings overlooking the sea close to Widemouth Bay. Well worth a visit during your stay. Jamie and the team offer a warm welcome and there is usually plenty of atmosphere. If they have the their Italian Sunday Lunch special on it is a nice twist on the norm!

Asian fine dining in the centre of Bude. The best "eat-in" oriental restaurant in town. Very, very popular in peak season so book early to avoid disappointment. Good discount for take-out orders which are resturant quality.
