Due to construction work here on site, both our campsite and cottage will not be available during the 2020 season. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. Please do check back with us for the 2021 season however.
Ivyleaf Cottage Holidays provides self-catering, caravanning and camping holidays, located just a few miles outside of the town of Bude in Cornwall. Bude and the surrounding area has a wide range of facilities and attractions to offer the holiday-maker which has helped to keep it regularly in the top ten beach resorts in the UK in recent guest surveys. More details can be found out about the area via the Out and About option above.
Ivyleaf Cottage itself is a four bedroom attached cottage which sleeps eight and which is primarily let on a self-catering basis (although in the low season we can provide bed and breakfast accommodation in our en-suite rooms, so please feel free to enquire if this is your requirement).
Set in approximately two and a half acres of grounds, the cottage has it's own terraced patio and garden areas, the rest is used primarily for camping and caravanning as well as the enjoyment of our cottage guests. The view from the front of the cottage is out over the lowest two camping pitches and then the beautiful valley beyond. Our Camping and Caravanning Club CS licensed site (ref: 190/079) caters for up to five touring vans and ten tents at any given time and is open April to October each year. We can cater for guests with dogs and details can be found on the relevant sections of the site. The cottage feels appropriately private whilst offering guests the opportunity to meet and mix with other guests staying on the site if they wish, especially at some of our arranged activities such as our weekly hot chocolate and fire pit night during the high season.
We are situated on the sunny south face of Ivyleaf Hill with its fantastic views along the north Cornwall coastline and inland as far as Bodmin Moor. The area is a part wooded and part agricultural valley which feels very much like being in the heart of the countryside, yet we are only three miles from the beaches and the A39 main coast road is at the bottom of the hill (far enough away not to be a noise nuisance though).
It is our aim to provide a restful countryside getaway, where our clients can relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Cornwall, whilst having easy access to the more adrenaline-fuelled pursuits of the surrounding area. There is a golf course and driving range, forest archery and paint-ball all within just a short walk up Ivyleaf Hill, so even if you don't want to get in the car there is plenty to keep more active guests entertained right on the doorstep! Walkers and cyclists are spoilt for choice with the North Cornwall Coastal Path accessible via public footpaths and quiet country lanes from the cottage and the starting point of both the Camel and Tarka Trails only about 30 minutes away by car. There is a mountain bike course in woods at the top of Ivyleaf Hill which can be used by guests following a phone call to the local club.
For those that are looking just to escape the busy day-to-day, there are plenty of quaint country pubs, inviting coffee shops/cafes and peaceful open country gardens in the surrounding few miles, many close to or overlooking the majestic Atlantic ocean.
We hope you chose to let us help make your holiday a great one.
Stuart and Jackie Lockyer.
